Giving thanks to the neighborhood.

The ‘Canal Nest Colony‘ was recently created by our friend David Moses, an architect here in New York City, and a few of his colleagues. As part of a 48-hour design competition, the crew designed and built a colony of bird houses for Eastern Blue Birds and Purple Martins in the post-industrial Gowanus Canal area of Brooklyn. They took public transportation to a nursery in Allentown, N.J., borrowed a cube truck, then used salvaged wood to build the nests.

Hats off to you gents! This is such a lovely way to give big ups to our neighborhood.

  1. With all the bad news out there every day, it is so refreshing to learn of good deeds and new ways to give back! Kudos to Mr. Moses, his colleagues and to you guys for bringing this project to our attention!!
