We’re on our way! USA beats Spain 2-0 in Confederation’s Cup Semi-Final

Ending their opponent’s 35-match winning streak, the United States Men’s Soccer Team defeated Spain, currently the #1 team in the world, in Bloemfontein, South Africa, today at the FIFA Confederation’s Cup Semi-Final. The final score was 2-0.

People, this is UNHEARD of… UNSPEAKABLE… and about time already!

Our back line were masterful defenders, our keeper was a brick wall. We finished very well twice when we had the opportunity and looked confident in the face of Spain’s all out attack. I am proud of our team.

Our boys in red white and blue will be facing off against the winner of the South Africa v Brasil match this Sunday, on ESPN2, of all places (apparently something like Monster Truck or Wrestling is on ESPN at that time)! This is the first of many posts about the beautiful game that you will find here on Matterful that deal with soccer and its many categorizations.

WELL DONE YANKS!
